What is microfibre?

Microfibre thread is 10 times finer than a strand of silk and 100 times finer than human hair. Microfibre is made from 80% polyester and 20% polyamide.

Microfibre cloths are softer, finer and more absorbent than conventional cloths available on the market. Owing to their outstanding cleaning performance and durability, these products are safe, efficient and easy to use. They clean without leaving behind lint or streaks, and dry fast. Moreover, they are eco-friendly, as they reduce the amount of cleaning agents used. Micofibre is a technology suitable for numerous applications in a wide range of fields.

Nowadays, hygiene and cleanliness are gaining relevance. Bacterial diseases are constantly on the rise. Well-known bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus or Klebsiella pneumoniae are found in every household and pose no health hazard whatsoever in small quantities. However, in large quantities they can cause disease in persons with a weakened immune system or acute infections. That is why antibacterial microfibre cloths to inhibit or even prevent the growth of germs and bacteria have been on the market for several years. But 90% of all antibacterial cloths on the market are treated with a liquid substance applied during the dyeing/splitting process. In most cases, this substance is very effective up until the first wash. However, after a maximum of five washes at 60°C, the desired antibacterial effect can no longer be verified, as by then the substance has been washed out of the fabric.
